Here he is, our beautiful Galgo crossbreed male, who we recently took over from the Perrera. Carlo is about 2 years old and taken in into the Perrera as a “vagabundo”. Many months he has spent there; they all took a toll on him and he degraded more and more and was incredibly stressed. Now, after a few days at our shelter in Calvià, we can already see a completely different dog – the “real” Carlo 😊.

He is friendly to everyone, very affectionate (he loves to come and sit on the arm or lap of the person he knows 😁) and he really wants to be close to us. He is blossoming more and more and we can see that he still has a lot of potential. He doesn’t seem to have any problems with most other dogs so far. He even “charmed” our Brad (who doesn’t really like other dogs at all😉) at the fence with his behavior – and that tells us something.

Carlo is a great dog, but he really needs the right people – especially after everything he’s been through, it just has to be right now. He needs people who really like to be active, who really have enough time, who will accept him as a full family member, who live close to nature and preferably with a garden and who will give him the necessary time and patience – because he hasn’t had much of a chance to learn anything so far. For example, he still needs to work on walking on a lead and other things. For the clever male dog, however, “learning together” will not be a problem, but rather fun.

Carlo has been neutered, tested negative for leishmaniasis and is now absolutely ready for his perfect match. Another dog, perhaps a female 😉) would certainly suit him too, but is of course not a must. Cats don’t necessarily have to be part of the new home, although there may even be a small chance that it can be trained. But we can’t guarantee that at the moment.

Carlo has had to fight through some really tough times and really deserves the right new home.
