…BRAD ♥️ 😔

(August  2024)
5 July 2020 – that was the day we took Brad over from the Perrera Calvià to the SOS Animal shelter. He had been handed in there months earlier, together with his dog buddy Pitt (Pitt was adopted very quickly, by the way). Brad was then 5 1/2 years old. And if you think you’ve made a mistake: NO – it wasn’t 😢. Our beautiful senior dog has been living with us at the shelter for over 4 years now. Today, on August 18, 2024, that is exactly 4 years, 6 weeks and 2 days 😔. It’s impossible to count how many dog buddies he has seen come and go during this time. And it has NEVER worked out for our Brad – now there is no one who can really understand that – especially not the people who meet him at our home. Our beautiful German shepherd mixed breed is now 9 years old – and in November he will be 10 🙏.
The people who get to know him here and look after him with us all describe him as a “DREAM DOG” ❤️. Over the years, Brad has naturally become much calmer and also gentler, more thoughtful and more sociable.
What is the most important thing for this great senior dog? Definitely a human by his side. One or, of course, two familiar, calm carers who have a lot of time and simply spend a lot of time with him. Brad doesn’t want to have other dogs and cats directly around him (any more) and we have to tolerate that. Brad just wants his people – oh, and if possible his dog pool 😄, because he really loves water.
The dream home for our Brad ? A finca or a house with a garden, but also a large flat on the ground floor in a quiet location close to plenty of green spaces or parks – with people who are already experienced with dogs, who treat him with calm and patience, who don’t demand too much of him, but who can guide and lead him in a straightforward manner – in other words, who can give him a sense of security. Small children should not be there, as they simply stress him out too much. So that would be our (dream) idea of a dream home for Brad – and it’s not actually that complicated, is it? Surely it must be easy to find?
A suitable permanent foster home on the island would also be fine for us – but in this case without a time limit. Brad really deserves it

Love at first sight??
