This is Kiara…
(June 2025)
We were recently able to take over this great, just 1 1/2 year old mixed breed dog, together with her dog friend Yumi, to our shelter in Calvià. Her current family could no longer do justice to the two dogs due to personal circumstances. When we met them, both dogs were still very insecure and frightened – but immediately after they came to us, they both blossomed very quickly.
Kiara is a very special dog with incredible potential. She is very smart, has a lot of energy and a great urge to move. But the most important thing for her is close contact with her human(s). That really is her top priority. When she trusts (she still needs a little moment to do this, as she has probably not always experienced only good things in her life so far) then she trusts completely – and then she really needs a lot of closeness and attention.
If we didn’t know any better, we would assume that there is a lot of “kangaroo DNA” in her😉 – because Kiara can really jump incredibly high. This is very important to know and take into account – especially with regard to a fence around a garden, which should be in place if possible. She is not really a dog who tries to run away from her property – but she wants to be with her humans – and she can be quite inventive.
Kiara is a very friendly dog, but we don’t necessarily see her around small children at the moment because of her “jumping” nature. However, this has absolutely nothing to do with her compatibility, as she has been absolutely friendly to everyone so far. Kiara seems to get on well with other dogs – but cats should not be in her new home.
This special dog really needs the right people. People who like to be active and sporty and who really have enough time for her and for activities together. It would also be advisable to work on certain things with her – perhaps together with a dog trainer or in a dog school – because Kiara still needs to learn a few things. But this will not be difficult for her at all and will certainly be a lot of fun.
Her new family should not live in the middle of a town but as close to nature as possible and be able to walk her well.
If you work a little more with Kiara and gain her trust, you will have a real dream dog at your side – that’s for sure.
