Repeatedly this beautiful 9 year old Labrador Retriever mixed breed male has run away from his home – ended up in a Perrera – was picked up there and run away again. Until the owner finally gave his “go”. He released Rex and we were able to take him over. Rex had not been wanted for a long time. And of course the sensitive male dog felt that. Thank God he could go to an emergency foster home here on the island, because the shelter would have been unbelievably hard on him. He currently lives there with various dogs. But now our good Rex really needs his final home – because the time in his foster home is limited.

“Rex is just great” – this is the short overall assessment of his current foster mum and this was also my impression after getting to know him. He loves people, especially children – he loves other dogs – he has no problem with cats – he is sensitive, open, incredibly sweet and friendly, and smart. And that must have been the reason for his constant running away. He always had to be alone there.

Now, at his foster home, he doesn’t really think about it any more – he just wants to be part of it. So we are looking for a family for Rex who will really accept him as a full member of the family, who has lots of time, who is happy to have children or other dogs (of course not a must😉 ) and who will also do lots of things with him. Rex is definitely not an “old dog” yet – he actually seems much younger. Of course, he still needs to learn a few things, but that won’t be difficult for the clever little guy with the right guidance. By the way, a garden would be fantastic – however surrounded by a good fence. Because “safe is safe” 😉. A really great dog is looking for his really great people ♥️. Please share our search – thank you very much!
