A very special dog with a very special story . Many months ago we took Toby in from the perrera – in a really bad and very emaciated condition. Many examinations and tests were carried out until we finally had the diagnosis – “heartworm” in a very advanced stage. Toby then underwent a very lengthy treatment that was inevitably potentially dangerous for him. He had to spend a long time in our quarantine as he had to be kept in reduced mobility.

Toby fought his way through it all and is now over it🙏. He lost so much time because we couldn’t take him into care, of course. But now he’s ready – and now this brave fighter really needs his chance to find his own humans. Toby turns three years old in November and is now starting his life all over again.

He is incredibly people-orientated and loves to be close to people. Of course, he doesn’t really know much about life yet due to his previous history. He currently gets on well with some dogs – less so with others. But this is definitely also due to the overall situation. Cats don’t necessarily have to be in his new home.

Toby is a really great dog in the prime of his life. He loves to move around and be active and it is very important to give him the opportunity to do so. A quiet residential area close to nature, preferably with a garden, would be absolutely desirable. Toby should go to people who are already experienced with dogs, who understand his situation and who will walk his new path together with him – because he still has a lot to learn. But he can do that and he wants to. It is important that he is accepted as a real member of the family, because he deserves that now. Small children should not be in his new family, as we simply cannot judge that well enough.

Toby is ready and he now wants to catch up on a lot – and all he needs now is the right people 🙏
