The beautiful seven-year-old Labrador male has now been with us at the animal shelter in Calvia for a few days – enough time to get to know each other a little better. And enough time to realise that you simply cannot help but fall in love with this magnificent boy. And that’s what happens to everyone who has met him here so far.

Charly is a real charmer and a family and people-orientated dog who literally soaks up the closeness, connection and togetherness with his humans and seeks it out incredibly. For dogs like this, life in a shelter and the loneliness that comes with it is of course particularly stressful.

We have now seen Charly with various people and also with children (who are already able to understand dogs) and he has always behaved in a perfect manner. Even though Charly has the opportunity to run around freely in our large outdoor enclosure, he constantly seeks closeness and connection with his caregiver. Affection, cuddles and, as mentioned, closeness are simply the most important things for him.

Charly is very good on the leash and loves going for walks. He has been quite compatible with most of his fellow dogs so far – but it often just depends on the chemistry.

However, cats are definitely not allowed in his new home – that is certain and cannot be changed.

Charly is a truly special dog and we really hope that we will find the right people for him very soon – so that he can leave the shelter as quickly as possible.
