This adorable eleven-year-old Breton bitch has been with us at the shelter for a few days now. We can still only say that she is a wonderful dog. A dog who is really suffering massively from the shelter situation.

Kira ended up at our shelter because her owner found himself in a personal (and understandable!) emergency situation and had no choice but to hand her over to us. Naturally with the great hope that we will soon find a good and suitable home for her. Kira is very people-orientated and really seeks contact and closeness. She has never had any problems with other dogs and has always been friendly.

Cats should not necessarily be in her new home, although she doesn’t actually react aggressively either. She actually walks past most cats on the lead without any major reaction. However, as she used to hunt, we simply want to be particularly careful.

Kira used to live and sleep mainly outside – but always with a lot of human and family contact. We would therefore like to find her a home with a garden in a quieter residential area. She is definitely not a pure “city dog”. But even though she used to sleep outside most of the time, we would now definitely like a family where she can also go indoors – even to sleep there. This option should definitely be available – because we can just see how much she wants contact with people.

Even though Kira is a bit older, she still loves going for walks together – and she is really easy to guide her on a lead. So she would also be a good companion for older people.

We hope so much that Kira can leave our shelter as soon as possible 🙏
