This is Popeye, a more than ten years old black female cat 🐈‍⬛ who desperately needs to find a new loving Foster Home on the island with access to the outdoors (and no other cats or dogs). Not needy or requiring much attention, we are seeking someone who cares and gives her the love ❤️ she deserves.

After years of neglect, homeless and with little and often no food or water she was found in Costa de la Calma a year ago with a very bad eye infection which resulted in her losing her left eye. Now she manages well but is careful where she steps. She is calm, initially a little shy and scared of cats or dogs. She adores her food and warmth, basking in the morning or evening rays, lying on soil in pots or in the semi shade outside as this is what she is used to. With her advancing years she sleeps a lot and loves to step into her safe nest created from a warm blanket.

After 5 months caring for Popsey, her current foster mum is moving countries. During this time Popsey has blossomed, slowly gaining confidence and trust in humans again. She enjoys being brushed, stroked, patted or even cuddled for short periods – all things she never had in her life. And her nightly liquid treats or a tiny piece of fresh fish or poultry is just the best treat. She is appreciative of the care and shows her affection with brief nibbles (as she has no teeth).

She is on renal food and liquid medication which is controlling a starting renal issue well. She is tested positive in fiv. Our association will cover all her vet expenses. She needs a loving home with access to a sunny terrace 🌞 🪴or fenced garden 🏡🌳as the outdoors is all she has ever known. Ideally with someone who is familiar with cats and does not currently have cats or dogs.  She has been dewormed, vaccinated, tested, neutered and microchipped.
