Ares had landed in the Perrera Calvià as a lost and found dog some time ago and his family was identified by the chip. However, it was not picked up and after some time, thank God, a release could be achieved. So we could take over Ares from there to our animal shelter SOS Animal.

Ares is a Border Collie mixed male which will become three years in May – and a truly beautiful one. But this is exactly what you should not be fooled by, because Ares is also a dog that should go absolutely and exclusively to already (possibly even breed-) experienced people. He is extremely intelligent and has not really had to follow many rules in his life so far. And so the beautiful male has already developed one or the other behaviour pattern on which you absolutely have to work. This is definitely only possible with experience, consistency and clarity.

Ares needs a bit of time to establish a basic trust with strangers and at the moment it seems to be even easier for him towards women. He is then really very attentive, friendly, sweet and affectionate – but he would also like to set up his own rules in between. Encounters with other dogs overwhelm him more often at the moment, as he probably had no real development opportunities. And it is precisely in such encounters that he needs a clear and experienced leadership.

Ares is a very special dog with an incredible amount of potential, but also with one or the other already created “construction site”, which you should definitely work on together with him – in order to be able to live really well together. The Ares has a lot of energy and joy of movement, he should be allowed to live as close to nature as possible and also with a garden – of course as a full family member and currently perhaps better first as a single dog – and that with people who really have enough time for him and who can really get involved with him. Ares is already neutered, fully vaccinated and tested negative for leishmaniasis.
